Power Steering Warning

The power steering warning light for Lincoln models is a red illustration of a steering wheel next to an exclamation point. If this turns on during one of your commutes, it’s likely due to there being an issue with the electric power-assisted steering. Pull over as soon as it’s safe to do so, shut off the car, and then start it again. If the light comes back on, take it to a certified mechanic right away.

Charging System Warning

If you see a red light that looks like a standard car battery, that’s the charging system warning light telling you that the engine is no longer charging the battery. The reason for this could be that the wires connecting the battery are loose or the alternator has stopped working. Pull over immediately and call for assistance.

Airbag Warning

Lincoln Dashboard Light Guide

The airbag warning light is there to let you know that there’s an issue with one or more of the vehicle’s airbags. You’ll recognize it as an illustration of a passenger wearing a seatbelt, with an inflated airbag in front of them. This light is also red. The moment you notice the airbag warning light is on, have a technician check it out to address the situation.

Tire Pressure Warning

The tire pressure warning light is orange. It looks like a tire, with an exclamation point inside. When you see this light, you’ll know that one or more of your tires is running low on air pressure. If the light is blinking, it means that the air pressure is decreasing quickly and immediate assistance is necessary. Causes of a drop in tire air pressure could be a puncture, excessive wear and tear around the rim, or a decline in temperature.

Oil Pressure Warning

The oil pressure warning light is a red symbol of an oil can, with a drop dripping from its spout. The low engine oil level that triggers this light can be caused by a leak or by oil burning. Continuing to drive could cause damage to the engine. It’s a good idea to pull over in a safe area and call for assistance.

Remember To Watch Out for Those Dashboard Lights

Now that you’ve reviewed the above Lincoln dashboard light guide, you know what to do if one of them suddenly turns on while you’re making your way from Point A to Point B. When it’s time to have the maintenance task completed for the corresponding light, you can count on our certified automotive technicians to take care of it for you.
